1. Start The Day With Lemon Water
Instead of
coffee first thing in the morning, you can have lemon water
. If you’re
completely addicted to coffee
you can still have some later on. It’s very
important for your digestive system
what you consume first thing in the
morning, so that really shouldn’t be coffee.
Best drink to
have in the morning is lemon water. You can have it cold, but a glass of hot
lemon water is even more effective. Lemon water will flush out the toxins that
entered your body day before. It will also boost up your metabolism
.
2. Choose One Yoga Pose And Do
It Every Day
Yoga
is so good
for you that you really need to try some. But when you try yoga for the first
time not only is it overwhelming, you also don’t start to feel the benefits for
a while. That’s because it takes time to learn to do the poses correctly, to
breathe and to keep the body relaxed
.
Instead, choose
one yoga pose and do it once or many times a day. Being in a pose for just one
minute is enough so this will take you one or two three minutes a day (if you
do it multiple times per day). You can totally do that, right? And yes, just 1
– 3 minutes yoga a day will give benefits.
3. Stand Up More
Sitting for
hours straight slows down circulation
and metabolism
. So, instead of sitting
for hours straight with no movement, every once in a while get up and move a
little bit.
You don’t need
to move much. Just get up and stretch you back and legs, take a few steps,
maybe do a few squats. Not hard for you to do, but it will have quite an impact
on your body.
4. Sit Up Straight
Bad posture can
cause pain in neck, shoulders and back. In fact, back pain is mostly caused by
poor posture while sitting. Good posture is important for circulation, as well.
Pay attention to
your posture throughout the day. A really good thing to do for your posture, is
to switch out your office chair for a stability ball.
5. Don’t Drink Your Calories
Eating 1500
calories in one sitting is hard but you can drink that in a few minutes without
even realizing it. Be aware of calorie value of your drink even if the drink is
healthy. Do you want to drink 1000 calories with one smoothie? Most likely you
don’t. So always check to see how many calories a drink has.
And those tasty
milkshakes and coffee blends that you have while on the go are loaded with
calories. When you have one of those it’s like you had a full meal. So it’s
best to completely stay away from them.
6. Switch One Of Your Meals
For A Salad
And I don’t mean
switch out a meal for a few lettuce leaves, but for a pasta, quinoa or rice
salad. Why? Because you will eat lots of veggies that way. Look up different
salad recipes and find ones that your taste buds would enjoy and will keep you
full. Easy hack to make
your diet
healthier.
7. Read Nutrition Labels
You will be
shocked to see all the foods that are loaded with sugar. And let’s not even
talk about all the chemicals to make the food taste better and last longer on
shelfs. It’s easy to make better food choices if you just start reading
nutrition labels. It will also make you more aware of calories you’re
consuming.
Many foods
people think are healthy are actually not healthy at all. So when you go
grocery shopping check the nutrition labels and go for the healthiest options.
8. Track What You Eat
You can use an
app or a notebook to track what you eat. Writing it all down will make you feel
more accountable for what you eat. And also, let’s face it, there will be
probably many things on the list that you ate completely mindlessly. Tracking
what you eat is a great way to become more mindful of what you’re consuming.
And it’s great to stay on top off your calorie intake.
9. Use Natural Sweetener
You love to
sweeten things up, who doesn’t? But sugar is so unhealthy we should be running
away from it. It’s unnecessary as well, because there are so many better
healthier options to use. You can try some raw agave nectar
or stevia
.
10. Don’t Eat Two – Three Hours
Before Bed
Going to bed
with a stomach full of food is just a bunch of extra calories that you don’t
need. Food is fuel and you don’t need any fuel to sleep. It also hard for your
body to get a good night of rest while it has to process a bunch of food.
To sleep better
and get good rest at night avoid eating 2 – 3 hours before going to bed. At
first it might be hard as you may feel hungry and have trouble falling asleep,
but as you get used to it you will feel so much better and wake up well rested
in the morning.
11. Portion Control
Who doesn’t
wanna eat all the time? But eating too much is stressful for the body and in
return makes you feel tired and exhausted. And of course, consuming too much
calories will make you gain weight
. So it’s important
to portion control your food intake.
Instead of
loading your plate as many times as you feel like, fill it up once with amount
of foods you should consume for one meal. Once you finish your plate keep
yourself from reaching for more food.
12. Infused Water
If you only
drink infused water instead of just plain water that will have great benefits
for your health. And, it’s so easy to do since infused water taste better
than plain water.
Infused water
helps you flush out toxins, clears skin
and can provide you with some vitamins
and minerals
.
13. Spice Up Your Food
Spices are so
healthy to eat that you should really spice up your food as much as possible.
Spices can boost up metabolism, circulation, clear skin, aid digestion and
there are so many more benefits.. You can add them to
almost anything you eat.
The best spices
to try are turmeric
, hot pepper
and cayenne pepper
.
14. Switch To Healthy Snacks
Are you snacking
throughout the day? So, am I and probably everyone else. We snack in between
meals when we get hungry, but we have to admit we snack a lot just because we
enjoy food. The problem is not that we’re snacking but what we’re snacking
on. You can easily exchange unhealthy snacks for the healthy ones because
healthy snacks are just as tasty!
Healthy snacking
options include nuts, fruits and veggies, dried fruits and then there are so
many vegan desserts to buy or make ourselves that are quite healthy.
15. Do Short Workouts
Have trouble
staying on track with your workout regime because sometimes you really can’t
get yourself to just do it? Or maybe you are so busy you can’t find time often
enough to exercise?
Good news, short
workouts that last only 10 minutes still are effective. And what is important
you can use short workouts to stay consistent. As you already know, consistency
really is key so don’t skip a whole day instead do a 10 minute workout. Being active
for 10 minutes a day instead of your usual nothing will be very beneficial.
